Justine Nakamya

In her position as a technician, her major role is to ensure that the radio is on air all the time hence keeping “down time” to a minimum.

Among others she does service and maintenance of studio equipment, recording and mixing of sounds, install new equipment and replace faulty parts, compiling music, trafficking, preparing and carrying out outside broad casts, updating log books concerning repairs, servicing and maintenance of studio equipments and also offering technical support to the staff and interns where need be.

Currently Ms. Nakamya is pursing a higher diploma in electrical and electronics engineering from Kyambogo University. She hopes that after its completion she will be more enlightened in radio production since one of the courses she does is radio and TV engineering.

Ms. Nakamya was first employed as an intern at Uganda National Bureau of Standards Electrical Testing Laboratory for a period of eight months from where she joined UMWA in July 2007 as an intern. She trained as an intern for a month after which she was retained as a radio technician.
